·         Your moving company has credentials and some form of licensing to prove that they are a legitimate and recognizable business.

·         They should have experience with moving according to your needs, and this includes moving within the same State, inter-State, and even long-distance moving.

·         They should be insured because this allows you to avoid any liability and lets you know that they will be covered in case there is an issue, damage, or incident during the job.

·         They should have a variety of moving cars in their fleet so that you can get the correct size moving truck for your things so that you do not end up overpaying for a bigger truck that would have cost you more even if your things do not fill the entire moving truck.

·         The contract should clearly state all of the terms including the estimate of when the movers will reach your location, and a clearly stated bill with no hidden charges.
